Sleep
The body needs sleep in order to make repairs and to reguvenate the mind. It is said that if a man or woman is deprived of sleep
long enough, he or she will eventually go mad and his/her body will becomed so fatigued it will be unable to perform the simplest tasks.
Meditation or quieting the mind helps facilitate sleep. So does moderate and regular exercise. It is also important to
have good nutrition, refrain from stimulants such as caffeine before bedtime, and to drink enough fluids so that the body's other needs will not interfere with obtaining a restful state of mind.
Alternative methods of dropping of to sleep when the mind may be racing from a hard day, is to use a "white noise"
producing machine or turning on a fan which masks outside noises. Traditional methods include reading, drinking a glass
of warm milk, listening to soothing music, etc.
